Playing the game
How do I play?
Drag anywhere on the screen to slide your bucket left and right. Catch the treats, dodge the bombs and other hazards, and follow the Brain Twist banner at the top: it says which number tiles to catch. Each level has its own goal, shown when it starts — catch enough treats, reach a score or a combo, solve enough Brain Twist puzzles, or survive until the clock runs out.
You start with 3 hearts. Hazards and Brain Twist mistakes cost a heart; falling hearts give one back, up to 5.
How do I get three stars?
Stars are awarded for your score when you finish a level. Catch treats dead centre for PERFECT bonuses, keep your combo going, trigger FEVER for double points, and finish quickly for a time bonus.
How do I open the later worlds?
Each world opens when you finish the one before it (its last level). Gummy Reef also needs 42 stars, Frosting Peaks 74 stars and Caramel Crater 108 stars. If you are short, replay earlier levels and go for three stars on each — there are 180 stars in total.
What is Expert Mode?
Finish a world (its last level) to unlock Expert Mode for that world. Expert levels are faster and busier, with less time, bigger goals and more hazards — and they pay double coins.
What happened to the boss battles?
Version 1.1 retired them. Every world now ends with a finale level, and finishing it opens that world’s treasure chest — the same bucket skins, outfits and coins the bosses used to give. If you had already beaten a boss, you keep everything you won.
Why is my bucket moving so slowly in Caramel Crater?
You’re standing in a caramel puddle. Every caramel blob you don’t catch sets into a sticky puddle on the ground for a few seconds, and the bucket crawls while it’s in one. Step out of it, or catch an Ice Pop to stop puddles sticking for ten seconds.
What is Endless Mode?
Tap Endless Mode at the bottom of the world map. There is no goal: the Brain Twist rules keep changing and everything gets faster until you run out of hearts. Your best score is shown on the map.
How do I turn off the music, sounds, voice or vibration?
Tap the gear at the top of the world map to open Settings. Music, Sound, Voice and Vibration each switch on and off separately.
Progress and saving
My progress is gone. Can you restore it?
Unfortunately not. Your progress is saved only on your device, and it is deleted if you uninstall the app or clear its storage. There is no account and no cloud save, so we never have a copy — which is also why the game needs no sign-in.
Can I move my progress to a new phone?
Not at the moment. Progress is not included in Android device backups, so a new phone (or a reinstall) starts from the beginning.
Does the game work offline?
Yes, completely. Every level, world and mode plays without a connection. Only ads need the internet, so the optional video rewards are unavailable while you are offline.
Ads and privacy
I watched a video but did not get my reward.
A reward is given only when the ad reports that it was watched to the end. If the video was closed early, or the connection dropped part-way, no reward is recorded. Please try again on a stable connection. If it keeps happening, email us with your phone model and Android version.
Why is there no video button?
Video buttons only appear when a video is ready to play, which needs an internet connection. The shop’s free coins (75 per video) also have a cooldown of 4 minutes and a limit of 8 a day, and the second chance can be used once per run.
How often will I see ads?
A banner is shown on the world map only, never during a level. Full-screen ads may appear between runs, but never for new players, never in your first 2 minutes, never right after a video you chose to watch, and at most once every 2.5 minutes and every 2 finished runs.
Can I pay to remove ads?
Not at the moment — the game has no in-app purchases at all.
How do I change my choice about personalised ads?
In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, open Settings → Privacy choices in the game. Anywhere, you can turn off ad personalisation or reset your advertising ID in your device settings (usually Settings → Google → Ads or Settings → Privacy → Ads). See the Privacy Policy.
I saw an inappropriate ad.
Ads are limited to content rated PG or lower, but we do not choose individual ads. Send us a screenshot and roughly when you saw it, and we will report it to Google.
How do I delete my data?
Uninstall the app, or go to Android Settings → Apps → Brain Bucket → Storage → Clear storage. That removes everything the game has saved. We hold no copy of it. For the data Google’s ads collect, see the Privacy Policy.
Reporting a bug
Send us these and we can usually find the problem quickly:
- your phone model and Android version (Settings → About phone);
- the game version, shown at the bottom of the game’s Settings (the gear on the world map);
- where it happened — the world and level number, or Endless Mode;
- what you expected, and what happened instead;
- a screenshot or short screen recording, if you can catch it.
